Clapback Privacy Policy

Effective October 3, 2026

Clapback is a game for iPhone and iPad made by Luke Buthman, an individual developer. In this policy, “I” and “me” mean Luke Buthman.

The short version

Clapback does not collect any data about you. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it contains no third-party code that does. The game makes no network connections. Nothing you do in the game is sent to me or to anyone else.

What stays on your device

Clapback saves your progress on your device: stars, scores, badges, and settings. This information never leaves your device through Clapback, and I cannot see it. Deleting Clapback deletes it. You can also erase it at any time from the game’s Settings tab with Reset Progress.

If you back up your device to iCloud or to a computer, your Clapback progress is included in that backup like any other app’s data. Apple handles those backups under its own privacy policy.

Crash reports and statistics from Apple

If you have turned on Share With App Developers on your device (Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements), Apple may send me crash reports and diagnostic information about Clapback. Apple may also show me totals such as how many people downloaded the game. Apple provides this information in a form that does not identify you. I use it only to find and fix problems in the game. You can turn this sharing off at any time in the same setting.

Beta testing

If you test a beta version of Clapback through Apple’s TestFlight, Apple shares with me the feedback, screenshots and crash reports you choose to send, along with basic device details. If I invited you by email, Apple also shares your name and email address. I use this information only to improve the game.

When you email me

If you email me, I receive your email address and your message. I use them only to reply to you, and I’ll delete them if you ask.

Children

Clapback collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13. If a child emails me, I use the message only to reply and will delete it on request from the child or a parent.

Selling and sharing

I do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, because Clapback collects none.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, I will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above. If Clapback ever starts collecting data, I will update this policy before the change ships.
